The Campagnolo Bora Ultra 50 tubular wheels are a leading example of advanced Italian road bike technology, being the wheelset of choice for World Champions and Grand Tour winners when faced with rolling roads and flat terrain.
The Campagnolo Bora Ultra's are almost uncharacteristically lightweight compared with other aero wheelsets. Despite the enormous aerodynamic gains on offer with the 50mm deep rim, they weigh just 1215 grams per pair. Due to the new slightly larger, 24.2mm rim width, this wheelset also accommodates wider tyres than the previous model. As a result, rider comfort and grip are dramatically improved. While carbon rims have a reputation for poor braking, by applying All Conditions Carbon Control (AC3) technology to the brake track, the Campagnolo Bora Ultra's offer a 40% improvement in braking performance in the wet, and 20% better braking performance in dry conditions.
At the core of these wheels are a set of oversized, high flanged carbon-fibre hubs. These are filled with Campagnolo's proprietary CULT ceramic bearings, which help these wheels spin smoother, for longer. These hubs are laced and balanced to the carbon rim by hand via 18 bladed stainless-steel spokes in the front and 21 in the rear, using Campagnolo's distinctive G3 spoke pattern. These design and manufacturing techniques result in a wheelset that is incredibly torsionally stiff, efficient and offers lasting race-winning performance.
