While weighing just 1560 grams, the Fulcrum Racing 3 C17 clincher wheelset is certainly no slouch on the climbs. However, despite this relatively lightweight construction, thanks to the milled alloy rim, this wheelset can also boast increased strength and durability compared with other wheelsets in its class. The 25mm front rim height improves handling in crosswinds and further reduces weight, while the slightly deeper 30mm rear rim improves wheel stiffness, power transfer and rider efficiency. If you plan on using your Racing 3's for winter training, then the oversized 22.5mm rim width means you can run larger tyres to improve grip on wet roads.

Laced to these rims are a set of quality, high flange alloy hubs which are constructed with a cup and cone, steel ball-bearing system to reduce friction and allow for easy adjustability and serviceability. Combined with the stiff alloy rim, the high hub flanges create a wheelset that is 9% torsionally stiffer than a standard hub. Truly a wheelset designed to deliver when you put the hammer down. While this wheelset is undoubtedly stiff, importantly, comfort hasn't been sacrificed. The steel bladed spokes offer a vast improvement to rider comfort and are easy and economical to replace should any unforeseen potholes cause any damage.
